New ReviewerI was involved with Vida Vacations in Riviera Maya, Part of the sales calculations was an exchange of my existing timeshare for a credit against the sales price of what I was buying. It all looked great at the time, but I was never given any of those calculations, and now I am left wondering what sort of "shell game" they played with me. Equity Acquisition Services INC , the company that supposedly was taking my existing timeshare (playa grande in cabo) called me to ask if I wanted to buy it back for $3550. Since Mayan Resorts calculated these weeks to be worth $35,000, it's amazing to me that EAS is willing to sell them for 10% of that. RED FLAG! And they wanted a decision and credit card immediately, I Say no and they go down for Just $ 499 and also I say No , transfer My Timeshare, but it did not happend
I was told that if I had any questions, that I should contact Giorgio Tarabusi or Neil E Paulsen in Member Services. I have attempted to do that with no success. It would seem that there are no "member services" after the sale!, this Equity Acquisition Sevices INC this company is a Scam
I own several other timeshare, and have purchased them for gifts for my family. I have never felt "scammed" as I do with my VIDA VACATION purchase. I have contacted my credit card company to contest the deposit charge, and I will contact a lawyer to proceed with cancelling my contract. Also, I will contribute to whatever social media possible to ensure that others don't experience the same situation. Vacations are supposed to be "stress free"... and buying your vacation residence should be, too.
Monetary Loss: $30000.
Location: Cancun, Quintana Roo

1. I have not had any interaction with Equity Acquisition Services, but I have conducted business with similar organizations.
It can take more than 11 months for the change in registry to be complete.
2. It is quite common for these TS trade-in companies to offer the owner the opportunity to buy-back their TS. If the owner buys back their TS (and 10% is common), the trade-in company doesn't incur marketing expenses.
3. The trade-in company is obligated to relieve you of your financial obligation as the owner of the TS.
If after several months the trade-in company is unsuccessful in finding an owner willing to purchase the TS at a fair & reasonable price, they have a clearance sale. The 10% on the dollar should not be of concern to you, as your interest is the relief of financial responsibility. Likewise, as the owner of the TS, you shouldn't be concerned with the price the new buyer is paying (if you received an equity credit from your Vida Vacations purchase).
4.
You are correct in your assertion that the Member Services is deficient. If they return your telephone call or email, it is in accordance with their schedule (not yours). If you attempt to contact the salesperson, most likely you will not receive a return email.
5.
Most likely, the $499 is the processing fee. You are also responsible for the filing fee (usually about $350) and the current year's maintenance fee at the resort. YOU are giving up your current year's usage rights. The TS trade-in company usually offers someone your paid week's vacation for free, if they agree to purchase the TS.
If they do not agree to purchase the TS (after staying at the TS for the week), they pay a flat fee to the trade-in company (usually in the $250 to $500 range).
Could you provide the adress and phone number of Equity Acquisition Services? I see a office of two people in Davies Florida. Is this one of the companies that cahrges have been brought against due to fraudulent time share dealings?
Has anyone been successful with Equity Acquisition Services completing a deed transfer as promised without asking for more money than the original deal?? I need to know asap.
Stuck between a rock and a hard place. They want me to repurchase my timeshare ($3501) or pay the fee to complete the transfer ($1879) which I heard may not ever be completed.
What do I do? Please respond to my email: ethiers20461@***.com
Whenever you read "satisfactorily resolved" in these posts, it means that the consumer signed a cancellation contract, getting them out of their contract, but there was likely no "satisfactory" resolution for the consumer and they likely lost their full deposit.
Did you find a lawyer that could help you?
Yes this happened to me also and I have contested the charges on my credit card. Was this resolved with return charges and were you able to cancel your agreement?
Please respond before I hire a lawyer. p.r.stitches@***.net
Yes Me too. Same thing. If you can help me get out of this as well, my email address is la_paloma13@***.com
Did u get back ur money from vidaj
It is the same company that Sirenis Premium Travelers Inc. is using in their sales meeting for affiliation membership conducted at Grand Sirenis Riviera Mayan Resort and Spa.
When I did some research and hardly found anything substantial about the company (EAS) with one person in 6 different titles, I realized I was scammed by SPT.
It has become my ground for cancelling the "affililiation" membership SPT sold me and until this time, they are stringing me along.
We are also another couple that has been lied to by Equity Acquisitions and Vida Vacations. We were told the very same B.S.
that we see in all of the negative comments regarding this huge scam. We have decided to keep our timeshare because this illegitimate company acts like they are going to sell it and ALREADY they are telling us that we now have to pay THEM $1000.00 to keep it.
Our question is.......if we don't pay the timeshare scam company do we lose our privileges with Vida Vacations? AND is there a legal retribution by them?
We can all write to the Attoryney General of Florida to investigate the legality of EAS as a business enterprise conniving with these resorts that use them in their sales pitch. Once the connection is made and they are found to be fraud, then we can ask the office of the Atty.
General to help us recover our monies. It is a legitimate argument that these resorts are scamming tourists to fall into these contracts by using SCAM businesses which make the contracts null and void.
We were on vacation at the Grand Maya and were scammed into buying our timeshare. I called today and they asked for my deed and told me it could take up to 9 months to sell or I could buy it back for a fee. What have you found out to date?
Yep - they lock your account!
We have encountered the same problem with VIDA and EAS. We are out $25K and still own 3 timeshare weeks that were to be purchased by EAS back in March of this year.
Brian,
Did EAS ever get rid of the three weeks of timeshare for you?
Do you end up still having to pay maintenance fees for the three weeks?
This company use to be Trave Around the World be careful and dont pay anything to them !!!!!!
