Watch out for time share rip off

At a local resturant in Puerto Vallarta, Fajita Banana at the Marina, an individual from Vida Vacations and a partner approached us. We did not know they were from Vida Vactions. At first we thought they were the owners of the restaurant. His name is "Miguel Angel Rosas Torres". He went on to eventually promise us three (free) swim with the dolphin reservations if we visited a time share presentation. We did the visit and completed the whole presentation. However, Miguel did not give us the dolphin swims or anything in its place. He is a liar and so is his partner. Watch out!!!

Do not buy from Vida Vacations!

I have done a lot of research about this company and after purchasing a year ago Im am so upset with this company and the lies I was told. Nothing is working as I was told it would. I hope nobody else makes the same mistake I did. I have also sent them numerous emails and have never been replied to. They have asked me to call them "because they want to help me". I was the one who was lied to over and over again and I will not call them. They can answer my emails if they actually want to help. I have sent emails to the resort I bought from and the email that they recommended. Please feel free to comment on this if you have been ripped off as well. I may not be able to help my situation but I will do whatever I can to help others who do not need to go through this.

Guys, I just went thru a timeshare presentation where I was told that my weeks could be marketed to pay for weeks I would choose to use --- I am telling you .... Their story sounds good and they seem sincere --- they got it down now. I was told this was a new development in marketing but it seems this has been stated for several years now.

Guest

We have now been in contact with a representative from Vida Vacation

Club. They have helped us understand our problems and all issues have

been satisfactorily resolved.

Guest

Sorry I put the wrong title in on my last post.

Guest

As I have mentioned I know that we have already made a mistake. I plan on making sure nobody else makes these mistakes upon false pretenses. If anyone wants to discuss the problems they have had you can email me at lock22@***.ca

Its obvious other consumers have had problems with this company. I was told I could rent my weeks every year for a substantial sum of money and up until this point it has not and will not work. Please email me and share your stories about this. If you at the vida vacation club would like to explain this I am more than happy to read your emails as well. I have been told to many things to believe a word I here and that is the reason I want everything in writing.

Thank you,

Guest

Dear Readers and “Lock”:Based on the fact that we have asked for “Lock” to contact us by telephone as we are not receiving the emails claimed to have been sent to us, we have come to the conclusion that the statements being presented in these comments are not accurate.Unfortunately, we have had competitors or disgruntled ex-employees go online and post similar false remarks about our company in an attempt to damage our reputation for excellence. Therefore, we do require for “Lock” to call us in order to guarantee a response from our team.

As you know, monitoring the internet entirely is an impossible task for anyone and we will not continue to attempt a contact with “Lock” through this via as there is an effective communication channel that can be used to contact us if there is real need to do so. If in fact “Lock” is a member, we encourage him/her to please give us the opportunity to personally address any of his/her concerns by calling us.

We take every case very seriously and we will not rest until we have exhausted every reasonable means available to us to deliver the satisfaction we promise. We hope to continue this dialogue by having “Lock” contact us directly at 1 (80*) ***-****.Respectfully,Alín GinesCustomer Service RepresentativeEmail: grupomayanblog@***.com

Captured by Vida time share scammers

Beware of the holstess at Oscars by the name of Karina from Canada just off the Malecon Boardwalk in Puerto Vallarta. After chatting us up, in minutes she was showing us an incredible resort we too could experience through her company called VIDA. Boy did we get sucked in - by a fellow canadian. Captured for 6 hours by piranas trying to suck the blood out of us. Starting at 39,000 and in the end were presenting an option for $2000! Not so friendly in the end - what a waste of our vacation time. We learned the hard way. Do not be enticed by gifts.

We recently ( 6/24/2013) had the same experience. I was 5 hours of ***!

WE felt that we were being held hostage. Finally I got up and demanded to know were the Taxi's were. They still didn't stop. I had to physically hit the table and began to scream before they gave us our $150.00 and escorted us to the pointed us in the direction of where to find a Taxi....

Worst Timeshare ever.... Never again!

Guest

We just had the same experience in PV. We were taken in the same way by the person we thought was the host at Tino's.

Very friendly, spoke good English and we were sucked in by him. Although we said no gracias several times, we finally agreed to go to the presentation.

We wasted over half a day and spent many hours with rude, overbearing salespeople. Never again!

Vida Vacation Club Cabo - timeshare lies

Short version: promised 90 minutes and $300, received OVER 4 hours and $0. Longer version: We were convinced by what the timeshare people themselves refer to as a "body snatcher" at the Advantage Car Rental that a pleasant 90 minutes would earn us $300 CASH "green money". At the 3 hour mark, after Nick had used every ridiculous combination of numbers to make buying at Grand Mayan seem like it made sense, we told him no thanks and ask for our gift. After 30 more minutes of "survey" with Rafael and such questions as: describe in one word why you are not taking advantage of this wonderful offer, we again ask politely for our money. After over 30 more minutes of stalling us and handing us back and forth between different people, each of whom was supposedly going to help us, we finally gave up and left in disgust, just as like several other vacationers ahead of us had done. The icing on the cake was when we ran into Nick (the lying SOB from Vida) at the Walmart in Cabo that same afternoon. He tried unsuccessfully to avoid my family, and when I ask him (in front of his girlfriend) if he was proud to lie for a living, he acted as if he had no idea why I was upset and suggested that I go back to the Grand Mayan and "just ask for my money". As I told of my ordeal to every tourist who would listen all week, I heard more and more similar complaints about Vida Vacations in Los Cabos, as well as complaints from people actually staying at the Grand Mayan. My motto now: No Gracias.

Dear Sirs,I tried without success to reply to the request in your comment to my review, but I get a "not deliverable" message each time. I agree that you should have had "the opportunity to investigate this further" and that is why I sent an email to customerservice@***.com.mx.

I received no reply to that email.

As I told Nick when I ran into him at the Walmart the same day he had wasted 4 hours of our vacation, I would not go back to the Grand Mayan for a thousand dollars, much less for $300. I will, however, be happy to share my thoughts with you should you really care to follow up.Sincerely,Robert

Not just Vida but the whole Grand Mayan Operation

About five years ago we were hustled at a presentation at the Grand Mayan in Nuevo Vallarta and spent an enormous amount of money on a time share so that we could trade for our travels in Europe. Then we found out that there are very few trades in Europe in spite of all the promises. Then two years ago we were again hustled at the GM near Cancun where again we were promised all these wonderful trades if we upgraded to the Grand Luxe. My husband agreed, especially after we were threatened with a huge "upgrade" fee if we didn't. Of course it was all lies. Last month we again met with the GM people in NV to complain and again were threatened that if we wanted to make any change, we would be slapped with large fees. We bought their time share on false promises and they are very smug in assuring us that there is nothing we can do about it now.

I do not understand how people can live with themselves earning a living scamming people. Every person working for these resorts in sales are unbelievable selfish people with no morals.

We have the same problem, bought in Cancun. Did you ever get any resolution?

Guest

Omg! This is a scam!!!!

They are full of false promises to get you to buy and they won't do anything about it afterwards! We were promised so much and nothing! I hate vida vacations!

DO NOT BUY and get suckered in like the rest of us! THIS IS A SCAM!

Guest

I see a response to your complaint from Karen Rose to contact them about resolving the issue...I tried to email as well...but it is no longer a valid email address. I was just wondering if you were able to get any type of resolution?

Read the long version contract - Sales pitch bogus

According to comments on this website, I should be able to cancel my contract with Vida Vacations (Vacation Class, S.A. De C.V.) if I contact www.profeco.gob.mx within 5 days. I have done this, so let's see what happens ... Throughout the presentation it was exhausting because most of the pertinent information was withheld or misrepresented. In the long version contract it states repeats several times that you will NOT make money renting out the rooms. I just read now that my contract is connected to the Mayan Palace in Acapulco - not Puerto Vallarta which is where I toured the rooms etc. I have no idea what this might means ... yet another 'SURPRISE'!! Here's a list of the information they share with you in the 5th hour of the presentation or when you're in the 'notary public's?' room: - you have to pay a fee to the 'marketing company' in order to get the rooms 'supposedly' rented out. They say they have no data on the success of these marketing companies because it's a 'new' idea, but according to other posts on this website, it's been going on for a few years so they should have data on the 'marketing companies.' - they'll say you can back out of the deal when you're in the notary public's office, but SURPRISE, they've already swiped your card before you even get in there, so it's basically too late to find out what the 'real deal' is. - hopefully you already know about the 'black out' dates - Christmas and Easter, the renovation fees every 5 years and the fees for the exchange companies - yes both exchange companies have annual fees, Now upon getting home I'm finding out ... - that we might have to go to Guadalajara to follow through on our complaints and then we'll have to hire an interpreter because the case will be discussed in Spanish. I guess we'll see what happens next ...

Do not trust Vida Vacations sales reps in Airport, they promised, took my money, forgot about me.

When my wife and I arrived to Cancun Airport, we were approached by Vida Vacation / Mayan Hotels sales representative. He was polite, helped with taxi and offered the tour to Mayan Hotel in Cancun "just to get familiar with it for the future vacations". For our time he offered 2 Chichenizza tickets for $40.00 and present in the Hotel. We payed $40.00 USD and scheduled out pick up from the Hotel we were staying. His name was Ignacio Garcia Cruz. Two days later, we were waiting for Ignacio at 8:30 am in the place we agreed. After 45 minutes waiting we realized that he is not coming and we are loosing our vacation time. During next several days, I contacted Vida Vacation Cancun office (998) 802 ** **, discussed with Esau my disappointment, but no any actions were taking to fulfill there promises or refund me. I will never talk to sales people in any airport in Mexico and recommend all tourists to learn from my story.

Vida Vacations Club is pure evil

on our last full day in mexico, we attended the vida presenations. long story short, we wanted to go after 2 hours, they would not let us go and we stayed for 8 hours and got brainwashed into buying. that night after we got back to our hotel, we felt horrible about this and decided to cancel the contract. the next day is our flight day and we managed to get into the resort and find the sales office and talked to a member service representative. we told her straight up we wanted to cancel. she offered us a new deal, we rejected it, then she transferred us to another man, who offered us another deal, we rejected it. then it came to the getting our down payment back. according to them, the money was returned, what they got to show for that is just a photocopy of the initial transaction receipt with a VOID on it. and a letter with 2 lines saying the contract was canceled. when we flew back home and checked our account, the money was not returned, then we examined the only signed documentation we have, it was not even a proper letter! the signature did not have a name under it! they basically STOLE our money!!!!!!!!!!

We like many others have a horror story with vida and am out a lot of money hard earned. Did you ever get anything resolved?

I find it hard to believe there are a few stories on here that people are saying they got it resolved to their satisfaction. Since customer service will not get back to you whatsoever.

I don't know how these people can live with themselves.

Guest

kappa2,

When you called them, did they resolve the issue, or not?

Bad sales practices at Vida vacation or Grupo Mayan

After agreeing to take a tour in Nuevo vallarta at Grupo mayan (Vida vacation now) we bought something on false promises. We made our salesperson well aware that we were not going to purchase anything but after he found out we were not happy with our current timeshare.

He went into a converstion about how they can sell our previous timeshare for an amount of money that would pay off our new one. After hours in the room bc they would not let us go, we decided to believe the many reasons he had given us that they would sell. We then found out they do not sell them it is was someone else. They also told us they wanted us to rent our weeks that we did not use.

The reason for this was so they could get new members and not see us again. It all seemed legitimate but here we are over a year later nothing has happened on either end (rent or sale) We have contacted them but basically we were told, well you signed sorry.

Dont make the mistake we did. Dont be stuck with two timeshares you dont need!

The grounds and pools at Grand Mayan Riveria Maya are very nice but..we were told the time share presentation would only take 90 minutes...try 8 hours later. We were promised verbally by the sales rep and manager that there was income to be made through marketing and rental of the properties.

This promise clenched the deal. When leaving the resort we heard of 2 couples that were able to book rooms at short notice during peak season. This made us question how by using their marketing contact we would earn money. Reading other reviews on similar sites as this, it appears like no one earns any money in return.

Buyer beware.

Easy to trade into. If you must buy, go through time share resales which is much cheaper.

Guest

just wanted to let you know that my husband and i were almost victims as well we were invited for a breakfast to view the resort we were not informed it was a timeshare presentation until after we were there then we were told it would be a 90 min presentation after 4 and one half hours we were free to go with our gift pack which if we activate our one week vacation will cost us $384.00 for one bedroom plus the cost of the flight dosen,t sound free to me nice job vida vacations you took our last day of vacation from us and lied to us as well nice people so glad we went with our gut reaction we felt like we were held hostage because as often as we said no the longer we were held there with your constant offers then in anger we were released to get our gift pac that will cost us to use great job can,t call you honest abe but maybe save somebody else from the scam

Guest

If you buy a membership and you change your mind go inmediatly to PROFECO www.profeco.gob.mx they will help you by free to get your money back, if you go whitin 5 days from your purchase.

then the mayan group will ask you to sign a settlement which not allows you to tell nobody about the details, but you will have your money back in your pocket

Guest

we purchased into vida in august 2001. we have no heard from anyone except for, where is your next payment?

we have now found out that our Hilton timeshare will be attemted to besold by Global. If it can be sold. we were told at the presentation that it would all be taken care of and we were led to believe our obligation to Hilton was over. not the case is it?

the sales presentation was so fast and furious and they skipped over important item so lighly that we failed to catch them. We are now very concerned that we might be stuck with two timeshares. Please tell me this won't happen. Hilton Grand Vacation club is very concerned for us.

they want to hear from you so you can explain your program to them. If you are as reputable as you say you are, then you should not have any problem contacting them. Please call the director of marketing Rene (Tony) at 1-80*-***-**** ext.2369.

We liked what we heard in the ptesentation however want clarifications. Looking forward to a reply :?

sumerfun

This matter has been satisfactorily resolved by Grupo Mayan customer service.

Guest

Yes as written in my previous post. I am aware that another company "sells" the timeshares.

We were not told this for the first 4 hours and by then we were wore out and could not make a good decision.

We have been in contact with a man named Andrew and as mentioned we were basically told its to bad you signed. We have recently emailed him again and will wait until tomorrow morning to get a reply.
