What changes were made to your contract without your consent? Vida Vacations is allowed to unilaterally change the contracts to comply with changes in Mexican law. All other changes require bilateral consent.

Do NOT Buy!

Vida Vacations is a scam. I asked many questions that were answered in detail. Unfortunately, the answers were either lies or deceptions / partial truths. For example, I was told that Vida Dollars can be used to pay for travel outside VV. That is partially true. You will get a small percent off the price, something you can get for free through Orbitz or Kayak. DO NOT BUY the timeshare.

Several weeks after your timeshare sales presentation, you should have received communication from the timeshare transfer company. You make the first payment, which activates the transfer process. Your second and final payment becomes due once the company finds a new owner of your old timeshare.

Our experience was a real nightmare!! Hopefully, we found a company that supports us to stop wasting thousands of dollars in this timeshare. We recommend you to contact them, hope they can help you with this!

@Sophiya

Your complaint doesn't provide any information to your reader. It would have been helpful if you had told the audience EXACTLY what you purchased.

Not all owners are entitled to occupancy at all times. If you purchased summer season,you cannot reasonably expect to arrive for Christmas. If you do not own holiday time, you may still be able to come to a Vidanta resort for the holiday. At a specific published time, unsold and unreserved units become available for use by people owning less impressive memberships.

They are available on a first-come -- first served basis. Therefore, you have to act fast. Since it is only 2 months prior to occupancy, you cannot expect major discounts for airfare. Therefore, the thing to do is to make a reservation elsewhere at a hotel in the area.

If the timeshare becomes available, you can always cancel the hotel reservation (usually without charge). Since you already purchased the airfare, when making the hotel reservation, you received a discount on the airfare.

Your complaint didn't mention which specific check-in dates you requested occupancy, how many weeks prior to proposed occupancy you contact reservations, or any specifics regarding your timeshare ownership. You are assuming you have a right of occupancy in any unit unoccupied.

This is not true.

At any point in time you are in competition with all other owners of the same product for use of a specific unit of equal or lesser size. To secure your reservation, request as early as possible.

No Tour for the Residency Club Member

About 6 years ago I attended one of many member's update presentations. At that particular presentation a new project, "East Cape" was among the many Vidanta properties. East Cape was "coming soon", or so their market specialists wanted us to believe. It was shortly thereafter that it was announced that Vidanta was entering into a partnership with Hakkasan, Cirque du Soleil, an Omnia. Vidanta began work on the Cirque du Soleil theme park in Nuevo Vallarta and the Hakkasan and Omnia projects at the Grand Mayan in San Jose del Cabo. Years go by and there is extremely little communication between the members and Vidanta regarding East Cape. During this time I was persuaded to upgrade to the Grand Luxxe Residential Loft in Nuevo Vallarta. So on August 18 I went to the Grand Mayan in San Jose del Cabo, explained I am an owner, and requested to tour the East Cape project. It was agreed, and I scheduled to return on August 20th. A few minutes later I was introduced to my salesman, and he told me he would be presenting the Grand Mayan in Cabo. He said people off the street were being directed to East Cape for possible purchase. So -- outsiders get to see the new property at East Caoe, while existing owners are steered to the Grand Mayan. Essentially, the salesman was saying that I should pay for an upgrade permitting use of San Jose del Cabo's Grand Mayan. I was told I could rent weeks and make a profit (why couldn't Vidanta rent unsold units for a profit?) The presentation was disappointing, and I still feel I have a right to tour East Cape .
